It is very necessary to choose such a subject which will lead someone to fulfil one's ambition in life.

Class 10th board exams are going to be over and now every student is thinking about which stream is to be chosen in class 11.

WHAT NEXT?

Many students find this question very frustrating and intimidating if they are not clear about their career ambitions and how they can achieve them.

After the Class 10th one has to choose a path which will directly affect their career. Some students make this decision quickly without understanding its importance, resulting in selecting the wrong stream which leads them to frustration and depression.

So, analysing yourself is essential while making this decision.

Answer the following question to yourself ------

Q1--Do your friends/parents influence your decision?

Q2--Is the choice of your subject made by you or by your parents?

Q3--Would you be employed or self-employed?

Q4--Would you go for the government sector or non-government sector?

Q5--Does your field need specialisation?

Q6-- How many years of specialisation does it need?

Q7--How much guidance do you expect from your teachers?

In this session, I am providing you with a self-assessment survey that will help you to choose your career efficiently. Go through this self-assessment survey, I hope you will be able to choose your stream/subject after considering the five steps given below--------------------------

LET'S START

STEP 1--Identify your interests, values, personal needs and goals. This will help you better understand the career you will choose and how it be tolerated by you.

STEP 2--Explore your potential career then explore the field you want to work in and research the industries involved. This will help you to know about your career needs. Analysis, Will the particular industry you have chosen fulfil your needs or not? if yes you can go with but if not you will have to work more and identify.

STEP 3--Match yourself with your goal. Decide which career is best suited for you by noting down your occupational choices. Evaluate each option, identify the alternatives and look at your short and long-term options.

STEP 4--Write down the actions you can take to reach your goals. For example- Registering for college and sources.

STEP 5--Analysis of the career you have chosen. This will help you to get an outside view of how you are going to meet your expectations and what skills are necessary to achieve them.

Sometimes students make the wrong decision due to a lack of knowledge. They ignore their choices and follow peer decisions. So a healthy conversation with your parents will also help you.
